Rule update

May 5 2022 - We have a few updates for the Mcminville race. Tag weight change, rain tires and push back clarification. Please take time to read them carefully.

In an order to continue with Parity, The X30 has got a reduction in 5lbs in Sr and Heavy Tag classes.

As you may have been aware, the Rain Tire situation with the world, raw material, supplies, the shipping delays as well as costs are out of our control.
With that said, the US and International, LeCont and Levanto rain tire supplies are nearly exhausted and there will not be any additional stock for at least the next 2 Padholder events.
We have been looking at resources, shipping logistics etc and have decided to add the Bridgestone YNP compound tires as approved Rain Tires for the 2022 Padholder Supercup Sprint Series.

Push back update

20.6.4.1.1 If the front “Push back bumper is no longer in the correct position after Qualifying with one side pushed in, The Third fastest lap time will be used for Prefinal Line up.
20.6.4.1.2 If the front “Push back bumper is no longer in the correct position after Qualifying with both sides pushed in, The Fourth fastest lap time will be used for Prefinal Line up.

Rules update for NWKA Padholder Supercup Sprint Series

April 10 2022 - We have been informed that the shortage of raw materials along with longer than normal shipping deliveries will impact the abilities to receive adequate inventories of the LeCont White rain tires.
Our supplier however has sufficient supplies of the LaVanto Rain tires in the US and are of the same compounds as the LeCont tires.

For the 2022 season LeCont and or LeVanto White rain tires will be allowed for the Padholder Supercup Sprint Series.

May 4th, 2021

Fellow racers, parents and fans,We would like to extend our gratitude to all of the racers who made our first race in almost two years a success. Without all of you we would not have had such great racing and competition. We also want to thank Tri-Cities Kart Club for taking so much time to prepare a first-class facility, as well as working late into the night Saturday, to remedy a safety issue with the track.

We would like to acknowledge and apologize for a few issues that came up. We had some line up errors with the Sr. 206 class that popped up due to the extremely large field that we had. We realize that tempers flared as it was a stressful for both racers and officials. We realize the software is not able to accurately produce lineups for the methods we use. Once we realized the error, we manually gridded the fields and will continue to use this method in the future.

We also have to take this opportunity to apologize to the parents in Jr.1. We tried to make the best call at the event but in hindsight we should have taken longer to discuss it and we realize it wasn’t the right call.

Like racers though, we are always looking forward and not backwards! As the series continues to grow, we want to acknowledge when we can and will do better. After all of our races we have implemented a teleconference with all of the NWKA member tracks and officials. Following this race, we had 18 representatives and officials then that looked at all aspects of the weekend. We have another follow up call this coming week to ensure the same mistakes are not made again.

As racers ourselves, we feel that the series offers amazing value and we will always strive to do better and provide an even better product. We ask that you reach out to any of the track representatives to help contribute to be part of this process. With our next round only a few weeks away, we look forward to doing it all over again!

Sincerely,
NWKA Staff, Officials and Club Representatives.

April 12 2021 Rule Update

April 18 2021 - Our first round kicks off this weekend in Tri-C, WA.  Pls review our newest rule book and updates posted.  We also suggest following our FB page where all of our updates are posted regularly.

RACING UPDATE

July 23 2020 - First off, we wanted to thank all of our racers for patience as we all work together through these uncertain times.

Although we optimistically announced our first sprint race and venue, the ICP groups of tracks have been forced to re-evaluate the event due to the current circumstances. After monitoring not only our states, counties and borders, we feel that to host a safe, successful race under the current regulations and guidelines would not be possible.

We continue to be optimistic to possibly host a one off race before the end of the year but more importantly start planning for another record setting race season in 2021!

Thank you again

ICP tracks and officials

Racing is coming back!

June 9th 2020 - We wanted to bring our racing community up to date with where we are at. We apologize if we have not been vocal enough but our hands have been tied and we have just been paying close to attention to government mandates.

Happily, our ICP community of tracks have been in communication/ discussing what the year will look like, how we will move forward and what steps to take in order to provide the best racing platform. We really haven’t have too much to report, and we always suggest reaching out to your track reps for updates.

Currently, tracks are beginning to open for practice with limited participation. A few are even moving forward with planning upcoming races which we are so happy to see. Even better, the ICP Road race series was a huge success!

What does this mean for the ICP Cup sprint series?

• Our first race will still be in Tri-Cities, WA
• We are expecting a large group at the first race, so we are doing our due diligence to host another ground breaking event like last season
• We have two remaining ICP races on the calendar, where Tri-Cities fall we will know more at the end of the month. Either July 17-19 or Aug 7-9 so highlight them on your calendar.
• We will hold off announcing any other races until after the first ICP race held in Tri-C, Washington when we have the opportunity to discuss with our racers face to face how they feel. Most importantly, numbers and entries will do the talking.
• So what that means is that we aren’t sure how late we would run in to the season, how many races we will add and so forth since we have lots to consider. The ICP Cup wants to do what we feel is best for our tracks, racers and volunteers that make this all possible.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Season postponed until further notice

Hello Racers,

We are monitoring things closely and for the time being we are postponing the first race. It is hard to say at this point when we release a new schedule.

We are relying on our fantastic medical workers to handle the situation and we will release information about the series and schedule as soon as we can.

We appreciate your patience

NWKA and supporting clubs

Feb 20 2019 - As we roll in to the first race with record breaking numbers, we are excited to announce a new sponsor that will joining the series for 2019! “In City Prints” which is a design & apparel company based in Seattle, WA has become the series title sponsor. The “ICP CUP” will be the new name of the series in 2019 and this partnership will prove to be beneficial for the drivers and teams. Not only will we be introducing a new logo, all media and website material will be designed by ICP. From the financial side, it will have a trickledown effect for the racers too. “We are truly a series that is run by the racers for the racers” said, ICP Cup coordinator Tim Draggoo. “We invite everyone to join a club and take part in something truly special that we are creating. I cannot take credit, all the tracks and representatives have worked tirelessly and volunteered countless hours to provide the best karting series the Northwest has ever seen”.

Draggoo is right, 2019 has brought unprecedented changes in all areas of the series for the better. With just a little over a month away and nearing the 150 mark, this could be the largest series event held in the North West since the series inception nearly 50 years ago. “This is just the beginning of more exciting announcements in the coming weeks”, said Draggoo. “I will be the first to say we aren’t perfect, but we are really striving to offer the best value for the racers dollar in a safe fun environment”.  Dream team of Officials

Jan 24 2019 - As our entries continue to grow and will break the 100 mark very soon for our first race, we wanted to share with the racers our ‘Dream Team’ of officials. We can’t express how much we appreciate them committing to the full season since officials in any series acknowledge it is a thankless job.

It was clear last season with the In City Prints Cup unprecedented growth, we needed consistent officiating weekend in and weekend out. We feel we have addressed this for 2019 with the combined experience of Race Director - Gene Bircher, Flagman - Aaron Stanford, Pit Boss - Brittany Williams and Tech Director - Tom Martinet.

Furthermore, we have also asked that each track provides an assistant race director since it is impossible to see everything. It will also offer another set of eyes to the Flagman and Race Director.

We are excited not only about our growth, but the tireless effort from our volunteers to make this not only best series in the Northwest, the entire country.

We have some FANTASTIC series sponsors coming on board in the coming weeks so stay tuned and have a great weekend.
